Get Involved

You can be part of making Tring a more sustainable community.

If you're busy with family or work, finding time to help may seem daunting.  We've all been there.  The following ideas include simple ways you can help, many of which need minimal time.

Keep in Touch

An easy start is simply to follow us and be updated whenever changes are made to this site.  Or subscribe to one of our monthly newsletters.

Alternatively join one of our Facebook groups or attend an event

Make a Change

In the Resources section of this website you'll find many sources of ideas.  Make a personal pledge to make a difference, one small step at a time.

Get Hands On

Join one of our community Garden mornings, or volunteer to help our Energy Group or support one of our Campaigns.   We have an inspiring list of "What if" ideas too and will be developing these in the future. Email us to find out more.

Support Us

No time? Perhaps you have garden tools or plants we can re-use? Let us know by email.

We rely almost entirely on donations for our work, consider making just a small contribution via PayPal

We promise that -

you don't have to sing Kumbaya, wear hessian underwear, or glue yourself to the A41 in order to help.

Take a second to imagine.   Picture an even better Tring, more sustainable, more resilient, with a stronger local economy.  Ask "what if.......?"   What if we were the first with an autonomous electric shuttle to the station; What if our local businesses were known nationally as the most sustainable; What if we had our own vibrant Repair Shop?  We can make all of these and more happen.  Email us with your own ideas, and/or visit our "What if" page.

Join us - every little helps.

Zoom meeting review of Dacorum Local Plan

Zoom meeting

Dacorum have published their controversial Local Plan, including a 55% increase in houses for Tring, mostly on Green Belt land. There is much in the plan that has not been thought through and should be a cause for concern. This online presentation summarises what you need to know and what you need to do next.

To be sent meeting details please email transition@tringintransition.org.uk with the subject Local Plan Zoom Session.

Thank you

Come and join us at the Community Garden, help shape the garden's future, learn about sustainable food and plant growing, meet like minded people and have fun.Come and join us at the Community Garden on the second Sunday of the month 10am - 12noon. We're on the right hand side just inside the entrance to the car park, in Duckmore Lane. Do come along and see what’s been going on. If you enjoy planting, we have lots of lovely new plants to put in! If you're coming along to help, please bring gardening gloves, a hot/cold drink and a gardening implement of your choice. However, we do have some spares at the site. We have a coffee break at 11am and we ring a bell to let people know, it's a good time to come and join us for a chat.
